Trees, Plantskydd®, Treeshelters and Tree Mats
We were successful in our conservation efforts through tree sales. There were over 25,000 new trees planted! Thank you to all those who ordered trees and a special thank you to Mary Groehler and Wayne Gaustad for their help in bagging trees!

Protect those new seedlings with Plantskydd and tree shelters! See below for information on these products. They are available all year at the District office.
There is no ordering deadline, but you have a better chance of getting the species you want by ordering early as the District has a pre-ordered number of trees. A down payment of 50% is required on all orders.
Tree pickup is held at the Hubbard County Fairgrounds on the first full weekend in May.
The District offers a variety of trees and shrubs for your conservation needs. Please call the office to talk with staff if you have questions about what species would best be suited to your situation. There is a minimum purchase of 25 for each species ordered.
PLANTSKYDD®
Plantskydd® is an animal repellent developed in Sweden, now made in the USA from 100% natural ingredients with dried blood. It contains no synthetic additives, is non-toxic and not harmful to animals or the environment when used as directed. Plantskydd® repels animals by emitting an odor that browsing animals associate with predator activity. It has been proven effective in extensive field trials against deer, elk, moose, rabbits, and opossum. View this information at www.plantskydd.com. Trees and shrubs should be treated before browse begins in spring or fall, and new growth should be treated until the plant has reached full size or leaf-out. It lasts up to 6 months over winter and up to 4 months during the active growing season. A brochure on Plantskydd ® is available in the SWCD office.

TREESHELTERS AND TREE MATS
Plantra® Treeshelters and Tree Mats are now available for purchase at the district office.
Treeshelters We have 5' treeshelters with a bamboo rod
available for $4.25 including tax. A treeshelter (shown left) is
excellent protection for your seedlings.

Tree Mats (shown at right) come with 4 long staples to secure them in the ground and sell for $1.00 including tax.
Plantra® products protect your seedlings and get them off to a successful start. Deer and rodents can't feed on them and transplant stress is also reduced. Tree Mats provide long lasting weed control for those who prefer not to spray.
These products will also be available in the office year-round.
