Description

Black chokeberry is a very adaptable plant with a wide tolerance of soil texture, pH, and moisture conditions. They propagate easily by sending out suckers. They are wonderful additions for wildlife.

In the spring they have beautiful white blooms, and in the fall the leaves change from a green to bright red.

The berries while astringent raw make wonderful jams, jellies, syrup, tea, juice, and wine. They are very high in antioxidants.
