One of the challenges of living and gardening in Northern Minnesota is finding plants that are suitable for Zone 3 and with some areas of dry sandy soils. We worked with University of Minnesota staff Tarah Young and our local chapter of Master Gardeners with Keith Manlove to create two kits specialized for native prairie and pollinators in Hubbard County. The first kit is a full sun collection that will provide pollinators and birds a tasty snack and your garden with three seasons of interest with stems and seed heads that will stand up throughout the winter. The second is a full sun collection that will provide pollinators with a colorful buffet from summer into fall.

Kit includes: 36 plants; six plants of six different species. Species included will vary based on current inventory and availability in a variety of bloom times and blossom colors.

Summer/Fall Pollinator Kit: Anise Hyssop, Showy Goldenrod, Rough Blazing Star, Purple Cone Flower, Black Eyed Susan, Butterfly Milkweed

Kits must be ordered by April 1st.
